Mudras for
Modern Life

Join Swami Saradananda, author of the best-selling book “Mudras for Modern Life” in an exciting exploration of ways to use your hands to channel energy for self-healing and inner peace.

The next online 5-week course will be starting on 19 March, 2025 and meeting on consecutive Wednesdays, 6:30-8pm (London time).

‘early-bird’ registration until 31 December (see below)

Mudras are hand gestures that seal prana into specific channels within the subtle body. They are potent spiritual tools that can enhance purification and good health. With regular practice, mudras can help to restore physical, mental and psychic balance.

In this course, Swami Saradananda introduces you to the basic energetic concepts of working with mudras. Each class promises to be unique in its practical as well as theoretical approach. You will learn about the subtle energies in the hands and each finger, and will be encouraged to experience them with your own hands.

This course is based on Swami Saradananda’s book “Mudras for Modern Life” and card set "Mudras for Modern Living".

The course is also of particular interest to anyone who works on a computer. It includes practices that can help prevent such problems as repetitive stress injuries, carpal tunnel syndrome and bursitis. Classes include hand exercises that not only enable you to better practice mudras, but also help you to release tension in your fingers, hands, arms and shoulders. A segment of each class will focus on hand health and flexibility.

Cost of course: £179

Early-bird price: £149 (if you book with non-refundable payment before 31 Dec, 2024)

During the course Swami Ji introduced techniques to make us more aware of our hands, fingers and thumbs and how to keep them supple and healthy ready for mudras.  She insightfully introduced many mudras and the reasons and benefits for using them.  Now I have a sequence that I use for my meditation practice, if they were not there I would feel deeply that something was missing.
